I paint original, unique, and tailor-made paintings. Each one is totally custom. All I need is for you to provide a photograph or I can take for you. You can also look through the galleries on my photography website and pick one. Alternatively, you may have an idea in your mind that you would like to bring to life as an original, one of a kind piece of art? Please tell me about it. I just love painting new subjects, it is always so exciting!
All paintings are normally completed in my studio but I will of course travel, frame, and deliver, as needed.

Private Commissions Price Guidelines
Here are some guidelines for starting prices for commissioned paintings. Prices will vary depending on the complexity of your requests. All commissions are subject to the Terms of Commission listed below.
Approx. 8×10 inches – Base price GBP 300
Up to 11×17 inches – Base price GBP 800
Up to 18 x24 inches- Base price GBP 1500
Up to 24 x 36 inches – Base price GBP 2500
Terms of Commission
Lorna will paint you an original painting which you will keep upon receipt of final payment. Paintings will be done on the agreed media, normally Arches, Winsor & Newton or similar canvas depending on size or request. The cool thing about a commission is that you are getting a one of a kind original painting from Lorna based on your request.
Before the commission starts Lorna will speak to you via FaceTime, Skype, telephone, or in person depending on location to discuss and agree your requirements. We will both sign a basic agreement setting out what has been agreed that will be based on the terms here. (These agreements are normally done electronically via email).
Rights:
As with all artists, Lorna will hold the copyright to all of her work, including commissioned pieces and they may not be reproduced without her consent. You are paying for the painting, not the copyrights.
For the agreed upon fee, you will be buying an original painting. Lorna will retain all copyrights in the image. That basically means you own the physical painting, but Lorna owns the image. You cannot reproduce the image without permission, so you cannot make prints or greeting cards or t-shirts for your friends, etc. You cannot use the image to generate revenue. In the contract, you will be granted limited rights to display the painting and put it on your website. A copyright notice of ownership must accompany the image when you display it. Lorna will exercise her right to publish the image on her website and or in print, show the image in her portfolio, include the image in an art book or collection of her work and sell prints of the image. Other rights may be exercised in the future. Copyrights are hard to understand so Lorna will be happy to discuss rights further if you need more clarification.
Fees:
Once an agreement is made to begin, a 25% non-refundable deposit is required. You can make payments to Lorna with cash, bank transfer, or with a credit card via Paypal.
How long does it take?
The length varies on the size and complexity of the commission but often it can be completed in 3-6 weeks. Lorna will do her best to complete the painting in a reasonable amount of time, as agreed upon by the parties.
Upon completion of the painting, the final balance will be due, including shipping costs. If payment is not made within 30 days without prior arrangements, your deposit will be forfeited, and Lorna will keep the painting.
How expensive is shipping?
This price can vary greatly depending on the size of the painting. Estimated shipping costs will be quoted at the time of the agreed commission. European shipping costs start at about 20 Euros for a small painting to 30 Euros for a larger and or framed paintings. It is dependant on weight and packaging costs. Shipping costs will also include insurance based on fee paid for the painting. USA and other International shipping rates are higher. Once payment is received, Lorna will sent out the well packed painting via UPS or similar provider and provide a tracking number.
